| The Chief Directorate Surveys and Mapping's TrigNet service and the ftp site from which GPS data can be downloaded. TrigNet is a network of permanent continuously operating GPS base stations distributed throughout South Africa at approximately 200km to 300km spacing. | ||

| The first maps ever produced by this organisation (then know as the Trigonometrical Survey Office (or Trig Survey) were produced in the early 1930's and comprised 4 sheets of the Cape Peninsula area at a scale of 1:25 000. These sheets have now been reprinted in commemoration of Surveys and Mapping's 80th Anniversary celebrations and should prove very popular to anybody interested in the history of Cape Town. | ||

| A new style wall map depicting South Africa at the scale of 1:2 000 000, has been released to coinciside with the Chief Directorate's 80th Anniversary Celebration. | ||
